Multan I&I seizes huge quantity of non-duty paid aluminum slabs worth Rs12m

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation I&I team seized a huge quantity of aluminum slabs/ingots coming from Quetta to Gujranwala worth Rs12 million.

Deputy Director Muhammad Khayal while talking with Customs Today said that Director Rubab Sikander received credible information about smuggling of aluminum slabs under the garb of iron and steel remittable scrap.

He said that following the above-said information, he formed a team who made a secret nakabandi at GT road and seized huge quantity of aluminum slabs/ingots coming from Quetta to Gujranwala.

Deputy Director said that the aluminum ingots were covered under iron and steel remittable scrap apparently showing clearance documents of Chaman Customs which were found irrelevant to the goods whereas seizure has been framed. Value of the goods and vehicle is Rs 12 million.

Superintendent Muhammad Sarwar, Inspector Zafar Iqbal along with Sepoy Naseer, Zulifqar, Shahid Alvi and driver Ramzan took part in the operation. Customs team registered a case and started investigations.
