Multan Metro Bus Project to create 700 jobs

MULTAN: The Multan Metro Bus Project will produce more than 700 jobs and the locals will be given preference during hiring procedure.

This was disclosed by Multan division Commissioner Asad Ullah Khan, while talking to the media. He said that the jobs would be created in Metro Bus Authority, Booking, Driving and Workshop Departments. He said that already over 2,500 persons were working on the project while another 700 jobs would be created soon. He said that the Metro project would be a sign of state-of-the-art technology and it would add a unique touch to the beauty of ancient Multan.

The Commissioner said that the bus depot would be established on 20 acres and land was being selected for this purpose near Bahauddin Zakariya University. He said that the land was available near the BZ University but the rate was very high at this location. Keeping in view the price factor, the bus authority has decided to purchase land at a little distance. He disclosed that workshops, bus parking area, drivers hostel, washrooms and stores would be constructed at the depot area. He said that the bus would start operating at 5:00 am and terminate at 12:00 am.
