Multan RTO collects Rs 2,067 million as withholding tax in January

MULTAN: The Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 2,067 million withholding taxes in January.

According to details, the FBR has decided to devise efficient plan to collect withholding tax from non-filers. The RTO has also decided to conduct frequent audit of the withholding agents to ensure correct deduction and collection of withholding tax. The FBR has also directed the field formations to inform about their collective efforts in this regard. This decision has been taken to develop ”Withholding Tax Audit Plan” for the remaining two quarters of the on-going fiscal year.

After newly issued instructions of FBR about ”Withholding Tax Audit Plan”, the RTO  Multan would identify the areas where is a leakage of revenue through non-deduction, short-deduction or late deposit of tax by the withholding agents.

The Regional Tax Office Multan is also making plan for  separating filers from non –filers in order to collect high revenues which also raise collection of withholding tax from all sectors.
