Multan RTO collects Rs 45.80 billion in 9 months

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan collected Rs.45.80 billion tax during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2014-15.

RTO Multan has collected Rs.21.50 billion as income tax during July-March of current fiscal year against the set target of Rs 21.45 billion by achieving the target more than 100 percent.

The Regional Tax office Multan has collected the almost Rs.23.40 billion in wake of sales tax against the target of Rs.31.43 billion in the first nine months of the fiscal year2014-15 with a short fall of Rs 8.03 billion.

The target of Federal Excise Duty was assigned almost one billion to RTO Multan for nine months but it could collect only Rs.544 million as FED.

As a whole, FBR assigned the target of almost Rs53.43 billion to RTO Multan for the first three quarter of this year but it remained failed to achieve the target.

The shortfall of tax collection has been increasing with the every passing month due to decreasing the oil prices in international and local market during first eight months of current fiscal year 2014-15.
