Multan RTO collects Rs129m under Asset Declaration Scheme

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office (RTO) collected whitened almost Rs.129 million under government’s amnesty scheme for asset declaration so far.

According to the details, Federal Board of Revenue have launched tax amnesty scheme for the those taxpayers who want to whiten their black money after the payment of taxes .

The Regional Tax Office Multan have collected almost Rs129 million from more than 110 taxpayers through government tax amnesty scheme of Asset Declaration 2019 during the month of July after its launching. Said taxpayers have disclosed their undisclosed assets and avoid any action from Federal Board of Revenue.

The Regional Tax Office Multan is making full efforts for the success of Asset Declaration scheme which will raise revenue collection as well as tax scope. The main purpose of the Asset Declaration Scheme is to allow inclusion of non-documented economy in taxation system and to promote economic revival and growth by encouraging tax compliance.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed RTO Multan to educate non-filers through awareness campaign in the Jurisdiction. The Regional Tax Office Multan has distributed almost 35000 forms and information brochures in the Multan and its adjoining areas for public awareness and further 30000 brochures have been printed which will be distributed with the utility bills.

Regional Tax Office Multan is conducting public awareness seminars that maximum number of people avail this opportunity to declare their hidden assets and come into the tax net. The deadline for the asset declaration scheme is 30th July 2019.
