Multan RTO issues final tax notice to BZU for recovery of Rs3.6m

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office (RTO) has issued final tax notice to Bahaudddin Zikariya University (BZU) for the recovery of Rs.3.6 million outstanding taxes.

Sources told Customs Today that the Regional Tax Office has issued income tax notice to Bahaudddin Zikariya University for non-payment of their income taxes generated from auctions of different canteens located in varsity. Tax authorities observed that BZU has auctioned their different canteens and hostels mess but they have not deposited their full payment of Rs7.6 million.

Authorities of BZU have deposited Rs3.75 million few months ago on which Inland Revenue issued them tax notice for the submission of outstanding taxes as soon as possible. After issuance of tax notice to Bahaudddin Zikariya University they have deposited almost Rs200,000.

Bahaudddin Zikariya University Multan is defaulter of Rs.3.6 million tax and Regional Tax Office Multan has served them final tax notice for the recovery of outstanding dues. Bahaudddin Zikariya University has been asked to clear their outstanding dues before 25th March; otherwise, strict action will be taken against them by seizing their official bank accounts.
