Highlighting the journey of My Karachi exhibition, Chairman Businessmen Group & Former President KCCI, Siraj Kassam Teli recalled that during his tenure as President KCCI in 2004, they felt there was a need to clarify the negative perception about Karachi city, which mainly emerged due to negative projection by the media, particularly the western media.

He said that My Karachi Exhibition keeps on improving thanks to all the Former KCCI Presidents of BMG who make untiring efforts every year with a focus on further improving this exhibition as compared to previous exhibitions. Consequently, it has expanded from three halls to all six halls of Karachi Expo Centre.

KCCI has been regularly organizing this exhibition without any commercial objective but with a vision to promote the positive image of Karachi and the tag line of ‘Made in Pakistan’ worldwide, he added.

Siraj Teli also appreciated the support extended by Sindh government, Governor Sindh and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan in making this event successful.

He was of the view that despite internal and external problems confronting the economy, followed by the unrest and deteriorating law & order situation, the business community remains steadfast to face the challenges and remove obstacles impeding the pace of commercial and industrial activities.

At My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony Exhibition, domestic as well as foreign businesses will once again be participating with a view to synchronize their trades. KCCI is certainly playing a commendable role in safeguarding the interests of business community and assisting them in every way possible, he added.

President KCCI Abdullah Zaki said that My Karachi exhibition 2014 will provide an excellent chance to explore true trade potential of Karachi in particular and Pakistan in general, which is home to natural beauty, traditions and cultural heritages.

“We have designed eleventh sequel of “My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony 2014” exhibition to expose the great potential of regional trade. We have also planned to organize an International Pavilion and have invited exhibitors from SAARC, GCC, ASEAN & EU countries”, he added.

President KCCI, while welcoming the support extended by Government of Sindh and TDAP, hoped that this year’s exhibition also succeeds in achieving the desired objectives.
