NA committee approves bill to prevent smuggling of migrants

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior has approved the bill seeking prevention of smuggling of migrants, recommending that it should be passed by the House with insertions for further legislation.

The bill titled ‘The Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants’ was presented by the government.

The 42nd meeting of the standing committee was chaired by MNA Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan at the Parliament House. The members of the committee held a discussion on the bill and recommended that it may be passed with insertions for further legislation.

The committee also unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on February 26, 2018.

The meeting was attended by Syed Iftikharul Hassan, Mian Shahid Hussain, Khan Bhatti, Nawab Muhammad Yousaf Talpur, Naeema Kishwer Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Ehsanur Rehman Mazari and Dr Arif Alvi.
