NA Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs to meet today

ISLAMABAD: The Secretary Ministry of Finance will brief the Standing Committee National Assembly Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs on the issue of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) today. The meeting of the committee will be held on 24th April (Wednesday) in committee room of Federal Board of Revenue. Committee will discuss and consider the report pertaining to budgetary Proposals received from various stake holders i.e. Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI), chemicals, Real Estate Sector and Pakistan Tyre Importers and Dealers Associations.

The committee will discuss the tariff reforms with regard to imports in Pakistan and to consider Micro Finance Institutions (Amendment Bill), 2019 moved by M/s Sajida Begum.

The committee will also discuss the work plan assigned by the special committee on agricultural products to uplift agriculture development. In this regard committee will discuss to increase funds for research and development work in agriculture sector in Pakistan and leverage the support of international agencies (World Bank and ADB etc).

The committee will also consider on different suggestions and recommendations regarding farmer access to insurance, investment and finance. Committee will discuss to enhance the subsidies for Agriculture Sector and support for inputs in agriculture sector.

The committee will also consider on the comprehensive report regarding the implementation status of previous recommendations of the committee.
