NAB approves filing reference against former minister, advisor

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau has approved to file a reference against former federal minister for communication Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan and Advisor to former Prime Minister Asma Arbab Alamgir on corruption charges.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Executive Board of NAB held in Islamabad on Tuesday with its Chairman Javed Iqbal in the chair.

The meeting decided to file another reference against former Vice Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan Dr. Ahsaan Ali on corruption charges.

It was decided in the meeting to initiate thirteen inquiries including those against former federal minister for housing and works Akram Khan Durrani, former Sindh minister for food Nisar Khuro and former VC of Peoples University of Medical and Health services Shaheed Benazirabad.

Addressing the meeting Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal said that Bureau will continue its efforts to make Pakistan corruption free.

He said investigations based on transparency, merit and concrete evidence will be ensured and mega corruption cases will be taken to their logical conclusion on the priority bases.
