NAB arrest co-accused in Modarba case

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested Shah Abdul Rahim in Modarba case for fleecing a large number of innocent people from Manshera, Abbottabad and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) as well as Karachi.

The accused, a main agent of Karachi in M/s Sunland Crops Care had collected huge investments from general public and agents and then disappeared after giving some months promised profit to them.

Shah Abdul Rahim in connivance of his uncles Ehsan Shah Shirazi and Syed Azhar Hussain Shirazi deceived general public in pretext of firm, dealing in fertilizers and pesticides.

Directors of the firm namely Ehsan Shah Shirazi and Syed Azhar Hussain Shirazi along with their agent and nephew Shah Abdul Qadir have already been arrested on May 15, 2015.

Shah Rafiuddin, who has been collecting investments from affected persons belonging to KPK, has also been arrested by NAB Karachi.

He has been interrogated thoroughly by Combine Investigation Team which got lead from him and planned for arrest of the remaining absconding accused of the case.

The accused Shah Abdul Rahim was hiding to avoid clutches of law as he had fled to KPK, Punjab and other remote areas of the country to avoid arrest.

NAB Karachi formulated a special team to arrest important member of Modarba scam.

He was arrested while keeping himself hidden in the house rented out by his relatives in North Karachi.

NAB Karachi has been successful in arresting all the five accused persons involved in illegal business of Sunland odarba. Now the case is under trial before Accountability Court, Karachi.
