NAB arrests accused in Wapda town housing scam

MULTAN: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan late Tuesday night arrested another accused in Wapda Town Housing Scheme fraud.

Suhail Ahmed was involved in allocation of files of phase III against fake mutation of sixteen kanal land. He was also involved in fake mutation of 144 kanal land along with his partner Tauheed Khan, NAB Multan spokesman said.

Accused paid heavy kickbacks to main accused Saeed Khan, the former secretary of housing society and got allocation files against fake mutations. Accused was liable to pay Rs 16 million and was absconding since his bail was rejected by the High Court Multan Bench. Non bailable warrants of arrest of accused had also been issued by the accountability court Multan.

Sohail was the 12th accused arrested by NAB Multan in the Wapda town housing society scam and rest of the eleven accused including Saeed Khan have been sent to jail on judicial remand.
