NAB arrests AGM Balochistan Development Authority on corruption

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Additional General Manager Balochistan Development Authority, Shaikh Mohammad Mehdi on charges of corruption.

The accused along with other officials and contractors of BDA embezzled Rs 196.83 million in the Dobandi Toba Achazkair Road Project that links Pishin to Qilla Abdullah district.

Mehdi was arrested after Balochistan High Court rejected his plea for bail before arrest.

NAB Balochistan had filed reference in the Accountability Court arresting four other accused including three former AGM and one General Manager BDA.

Accused Shaikh Mohammad Mehdi had confessed to have filed fake bills and misuse of power.

Balochistan High Court has only accepted bail plea of Contractor Nehal Khan. Further probe was in progress.
