NAB arrests CEO PESCO Parvez Akhtar Shah over corruption

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested Parvez Akhtar Shah, Chief Executive PESCO who is allegedly involved in accumulation of assets which are grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income.

NAB spokesman Saadullah Khan said that during the course of inquiry it was revealed that the accused Pervez Akhtar Shah belongs to a humble/mediocre family of village Teri District Karak. During his service from 1978 to 2015 in WAPDA, he has acquired illegally a number of precious plots at various places of Peshawar including Hayatabad in his name and the name of benamidars. Furthermore, during the course of inquiry it came to surface that the accused has accumulated 10 numbers of valuable plots worth millions of rupees in various locations / societies of Islamabad and adjacent areas. The accused also procured plots in WAPDA Employees Co-operative Housing Society Nowshera.

It is merit to mentioning here that, the accused Pervez Akhtar Shah purchased 2 kanal 18 marla land in Rahatabad Peshawar and constructed a palatial double story house worth Rs  50.00 million, 2 x apartments in Islamabad Gardens, Islamabad worth Rs 30.00 million and maintained foreign bank accounts in United Kingdom as well as in local banks with huge transactions. He also got various luxurious vehicles worth millions of rupees.

In nutshell the accused has accumulated ill-gotten properties wroth beyond imaginations and it will not be out of context that most of the record related to properties and bank account were recovered during house search of the accused.

The accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody.
