LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Mir Khalid Lango, the former finance advisor of the Balochistan chief minister, on Wednesday in connection with recovery of Rs 630 million cash from the house of a secretary.

Sources told Customs Today that a plea seeking permanent bail in the corruption case involving Lango was filed by his counsels, Farooq H Naik and Baz Muhammad Kakar. The court rejected the plea prompting the bureau to get him out of his car on court premises and arrest him.

It is pertinent to mention here that Lango had resigned before NAB seized wads of cash worth Rs 630 million and gold worth Rs 40 million from Balochistan former Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani’s residence earlier this month.

The counsels for the defendant expressed their concerns over NAB’s attempt to keep arrest warrant of their client under the wraps.
