NAB arrests secretary Excise, director Anti-Corruption on corruption charges

KARACHI: With its continued efforts to curb corruption in the Sindh government, the National Accountability Court (NAB) has arrested Secretary Excise and Taxation and Director Anti-Corruption for their alleged involvement in corruption and illegal appointments in the Minorities Affairs Department.

The NAB team apprehended Secretary Excise and Taxation Badar Jameel Mendhro and Khadim Hussain Channa, the then Director, Minorities Affairs, who was presently working as Director Anti-Corruption Department, Government of Sindh.

The arrested accused being the members of the Departmental Selection Committee, Minorities Affairs Department, Sindh were allegedly found involved in illegal recruitment of 26 officers in the Minorities Affairs Department through illegal means after taking bribes and gratification.

Further investigations are under process.
