NAB arrests three TMOs, accountant for Rs 100m corruption

KARACHI: The Accountability Court remanded five officers of the Sindh government charged with Rs 100 million corruption to the National Accountability Court on ten days remand.

These officers were arrested by the NAB on pointation of Mumtaz Zardari late in the night from Sajawal, district Thatta. The arrested officials included taluka municipal officers Wasif Malik, Aurangzeb Magsi and Agha Jahangir,  accountant Iqbal Qasim Memon and office assistant Muhammad Ali Shah. The sources told Customs Today that these five officials had confessed of Rs 100 million corruption.

During probe, these officials also confessed of discursive 33 percent of talukas budget amongst the politicians and journalists on monthly basis. The list was provided by the ex deputy commissioner Sajawal Shaukat Jokhio, sources added.

The sources informed that NAB would also arrest a number of local government employees for millions of rupees corruption from Mirpur Sakro soon.
