LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau asked the accountability court on Tuesday to dismiss Shehbaz Sharif’s plea for exemption from appearance and his arrest warrants should be issued.

On 28.5.2019, the NAB submitted its response to the accountability court in relation to Shehbaz Sharif’s appearance in Ashiana Iqbal Housing scheme and Ramzan Sugar Mills case.

The petition said that Shehbaz Sharif is roaming roads of London and here he has submitted applications related to health issues. All medical tests and treatment of Shehbaz Sharif are possible in Pakistan, stated the NAB petition.

When the court inquired about the former chief minister Punjab’s return, his lawyer said that Shehbaz Sharif will return on June 11. Meanwhile, Shehbaz’s son Hamza Shehbaz went to the court to mark his presence.

The father-son duo were indicted in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case in April. The National Accountability Bureau in February had filed a reference against the two alleging that the former chief minister of Punjab misused his authority by using public funds for the construction of a bridge to facilitate the Ramzan Mills, owned by his sons. The PML-N president was earlier indicted in the Ashiana scheme case.
