NAB Baluchistan files reference against BDA employees

QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Baluchistan has filed a reference with Accountability Court against engineers and contactors of Baluchistan Development Authority.

A spokesman for NAB Baluchistan said that government exchequer suffered a loss of Rs 196.837 million due to corruption in project of construction of 30 kilometers long Dobandi Toba Achakzai road Qila Abdullah District.

He said that the contract of the road project was given to the contractor Haji Gul Muhammad by the Baluchistan Development Authority who gave it illegally to another contractor namely Nahal Khan.

He said that suspects including a contractor Azizullah and BDA Officials including AGM Akhtar Hussain, AGM Samiullah Khan, former GM Muhammad Nasir, AGM Muhammad Nawaz and GM Sheikh Muhammad Mehdi were allegedly found involved in embezzlement of government funds.

He said that BDA engineers including Akhtar Hussain, Samiullah Khan, Muhammad Nasir and Muhammad Nawaz and contractor Nahal Khan have been arrested by NAB Baluchistan who were being interrogated while GM Sheikh Muhammad Mehdi and contractor Azizullah Khan were on court bail.
