NAB Chairman assures merit based appointments in NAB on Balochistan quota

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal Tuesday assured merit based appointments of competent candidates of Balochistan in NAB.  Talking to a lawyers’ delegation of Balochistan, he said competent lawyers of Balochistan would be appointed in prosecution branch of NAB as per their share on quota.

Brushing aside any discrimination in the ongoing various NAB cases, he said each and every pending NAB reference would be reviewed and apprehensions of Balochistan people in this regard would be addressed on merit.

The delegation felicitated Justice Javed Iqbal’s on his appointment as Chairman NAB and expressed good wishes for him. The delegation presented some demands to the Chairman including neglecting Balochistan’s Quota in NAB’s appointments, appointments of other provinces’ candidates in NAB on Balochistan’s quota without any legal justification.

Furthermore, Balochistan lawyers have no representation in the prosecution branch of NAB. The delegation also pointed out the pending references of Balochistan on trivial corruption references perturbs the accused persons.

The delegation demanded to appoint of Balochistan inhabitants on various posts including Prosecutor General Accountability, Additional

Prosecutor General Accountability, Additional Prosecutor General Accountability, Deputy Prosecutor General Accountability and other important posts to help ending sense of deprivation among the people of  Balochistan.

He assured the delegation to resolve their issues as per law and he  himself visiting Balochistan soon to have firsthand knowledge about their problems.

The delegation includes Vice President Balochistan Bar Council Haji Attaullah Lango, Member Judicial Commission Pakistan Munir Ahmed Kakar, Member  Judicial Commission Pakistan, Member Balochistan Bar Association Kamal Khan Kakar,  Member Balochistan Bar Association Saleem Lashari, President Quetta Bar Council  Nasrullah Tareen, and former  General Secretary Balochistan High Court Bar Association met with the Chairman NAB.
