NAB chairman ‘inspects’ performance of Sukkur Bureau

SUKKUR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Monday visited the Sukkur NAB Bureau office to review its performance on the basis of annual inspection conducted by the Chairman’s Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI&MT).

Senior Member of CI&MT along with his team conducted the annual inspection for the year 2016 and gave a detailed briefing to the NAB Chairman highlighting the strong and weak points of NAB Sukkur Regional Bureau.

Talking to media, Qamar Zaman said that NAB was committed to eradicate corruption from the country. He said that corruption is one of the major factors that creates hurdles in the progress and prosperity in the society and termed the corruption as a “cancer”, that was affecting the country as furiously as cancer does. The NAB chairman was determined to eradicate corruption from the country without any fear or favour.

Qamar also said that the NAB believed in zero-tolerance against corruption. He also advised all the rank officers to work more hard and vigorously to eradicate curb of corruption from our country. He informed that NAB had opened its offices in interior as people had to travel to Karachi to lodge complaints.

It was time consuming and cost a lot of money. Hence the bureau opened its offices in Sukkur with jurisdiction over three divisions – Sukkur, Larkana and Nawabshah. He said that NAB Sukkur is one of the important Regional Bureaus of NAB.

The chairman appreciated the performance of NAB Sukkur Bureau and directed all officers/officials to work more vigilantly and deligently in order to curb corruption and corrupt practices from the country. He also appreciated the efforts of Inspection Team.
