NAB chairman meets World Bank delegation

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the World Bank headed by Country Director Rachid Benmessaoud, called on National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry at NAB Headquarters on Thursday.

The NAB chairman highlighted the working of NAB and its achievements since its inception. Talking to the delegation, he said that it is the apex anti-corruption agency in Pakistan, not only in terms of its functioning at domestic level, but is also the designated central authority at international level in matters concerning Mutual legal Assistance (MLA) under United Nation Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). He said that the NAB is fully autonomous in terms of its functions and working under the NAO-1999, the jurisdiction of NAB is spread all over Pakistan, including, FATA, PATA, and Gilgit Baltistan. The NAB is also focal agency for UNCAC related activities.
