NAB chairman visits Lahore to review progress on 56 mega corruption cases

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice ® Javed Iqbal visited NAB Lahore office and held a detailed meeting with director-general.

During the meeting, he was given a detailed and comprehensive briefing on on-going probes and overall performance of the NAB Lahore by director-general. During his visit he also reviewed the progress on 56 mega corruption cases which includes, Paragon City scandal, Ashiana-e-Iqbal corruption case and embezzlement in Punjab police funds.

Talking with officials chairman NAB said that NAB is working hard to make Pakistan a corruption free state and corruption free Pakistan is our dream and we will use all our available resources to convert our this dream into reality.

He directed officials to conclude the probes of mega corruption on priority basis keeping in view transparency  and solid evidence. He said that NAB is strictly against media trial of any accused instead NAB itself is facing media trial. He appealed to media not to announce any new without confirming the same from NAB spokesman.

He said that NAB is not taking any action against any person without solid evidence, he said that NAB is providing all necessary facilities to under custody accused persons and according to jail manual. NAB is taking care of all under trial accused according to law, while on the other hand NAB not taking any pressure from any and performing its responsibilities on merit. Justice ® Javed Iqbal said that we believe in transparent and solid evidence base probe and conclusion of cases.
