NAB chief says cases to be probed on time

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that NAB has fixed 10 months for logical conclusion of any case which comprises two months for complaint verification, four months for inquiries and four months for investigations.

Chairing a meeting at the NAB headquarters, he directed all DGs to submit report about completion of complaint verification, inquiries and investigations within seven days as he had directed during his first address to NAB officers that no case will be kept pending in files for a long time now.

He said from now onwards, all complaint verification, inquiries and investigations would be completed as per the already prescribed time period of 10 months and no leniency will be tolerated in future. He further directed to receive all accused persons visiting NAB offices with respect and their self esteem be not hurt as per law.

He said NAB perfected its procedures to eradicate corruption with iron hands. He said corruption is a major hurdle in the way to progress and prosperity of the country. NAB is utilising all possible resources to eliminate corruption through “Accountability for All” policy.
