NAB chief vows to continue anti-corruption campaign in 2016

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Friday vowed to continue anti-corruption campaign titled “Say No To Corruption” in year 2016.

The NAB chief, chairing a meeting to review progress and performance on awareness and prevention campaign, said that the year 2015 has witnessed numerous initiatives take by the NAB engaging different organisations and civil society to aware people about ill effects of corruption.

Addressing the meeting, Qamar Zaman said that the anti-corruption campaign besides enforcement across the board would continue in year 2016. He said that joint efforts can check corruption before happening with help of all stakeholders, civil society, media and people at large.

Many initiatives under the campaign were taken across the country during the just ended year and major amongst them were carrying of Say No to Corruption message on ATM machines.

The NAB and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organised a seminar which was chaired by President to support NAB’s campaign against corruption. The NAB and Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT), organised a seminar in Islamabad and was attended people from all walks of life. The NAB and Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) also organised a seminar in Lahore and was attended by journalists, writers and people from all walks of life.
