NAB committee recommends CDA to show zero tolerance on non-conforming use of plots

ISLAMABAD: The Prevention Committee constituted by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Capital Development Authority (CDA) in its first meeting recommended the civic body to show zero tolerance on non-conforming use of plots.
The committee also suggested that the NOC from CDA must be made a pre-requisite for Registry/Mutation by Revenue Authorities in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
It further recommended that joint meeting of Utility Service Providersof CDA and ICT may be arranged to devise a policy for Utility Service Connections to illegally raised structures.
The meeting urged that CDA to improve its monitoring and vigilance system in order to report/stop illegal structures, in time.
The prevention committee was constituted by NAB in line with the directions of Chairman NAB, Qamar Zaman, according to a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The first meeting of prevention committee on CDA was held at NAB Headquarters under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman NAB which was attended by members of Prevention Committee on CDA.
The meeting discussed the rules and procedures regarding high rise buildings in sectors allocated for private societies, existing rules and procedures on allocation of plots to educational institutions and policy regarding enforcement of the CDA rules on non-conforming use of residential/agriculture plots.
Member (Planning) CDA gave an overall presentation on the issues representing the CDA to the Committee Members.
He informed the Committee that a survey is underway to identify illegal structures (without approval from CDA) in Sector E-11. 
CDA has requested the utility service providers i.e. SNGPL, IESCO and PTCL not to provide connections to applicants in Sector E-11 who have not obtained NOCs from CDA.
The Member (Planning) CDA also briefed the Committee regarding non-conforming use of residential plots and informed that the total non-conforming use cases identified by CDA are 1695.
