ISLAMABAD: An accountability court hearing corruption references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday admitted his application for exemption from hearing for a week.
However, the court rejected Maryam Nawaz’s plea seeking changes in her earlier exemption plea.
Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bahsir heard the three references filed against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar.
During the hearing, the judge accepted Nawaz Sharif’s one-week exemption plea, which will come into effect from Dec 5.
The court rejected changes into the earlier exemption plea of Maryam Nawaz,which will expire on Dec 15.
Meanwhile, the accountability court has declared former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hasan and Hussain Nawaz proclaimed offender in three NAB references, Geo News reported.
The accountability court declared Hasan and Hussain Nawaz offender on the report submitted by the National Accountability Bureau.
In its report, the NAB informed the court that bank accounts and shares of both Hasan and Hussain had already been seized.
The court has started recording the evidences against the accused under Section 512 of NAB Ordinance.
