NAB Court approves transit remand of accused in money laundering case

KARACHI: National Accountability Court granted four days transit remand of accused namely Najam-uz-Zaman son of Fateh Muhammad and directed NAB officials to produce him before Rawalpindi NAB court, who is involved in illegal allotment of plots and committed the offence of corruption and corrupt practices and money laundering.

On March 16, 2019, M Ubaid, Assistant Director NAB Karachi appeared through special prosecutor and produced the above-mentioned suspects before the NAB court and informed that the chairman NAB was pleased to issue warrants of arrest against said suspect, which was forwarded to NAB Karachi for execution on the basis of which accused was arrested, therefore, transit remand of accused is required for seven days in order to produce him before the Rawalpindi NAB court.

After the hearing, court approved four days transit remand and observed in its order that “keeping in view the record and arguments advanced by special prosecutor as well as without touching the merits of the case, 4 days transit remand is granted subject to his medical fitness.
