Director NAB IW-1 M. Tahir lands Asif Haroon in jail for 6 years

HYDERABAD: In an important development, an Accountability Court (AC) of Hyderabad has announced its verdict on a reference filed by NAB IW-1 Karachi and awarded jail term of six years to accused Asif Haroon Memon son of Haji Muhammad Haroon Memon ex-administrator of Hyderabad Development Authority. Director NAB IW-1 Karachi Muhamamd Tahir has been pursuing the case by assigning this important task to an efficient Investigation Officer Mr. Parkash, IW-1.

On 30 October 2019, the court announced its verdict on NAB reference no: 4/2016 (State versus Asif Haroon Memon son of Haji Muhammad Haroon Memon) ex-administrator of Hyderabad Development Authority Employees Cooperative Housing Society Limited Hyderabad. Under supervision of Director IW-1 Muhammad Tahir, Investigation Officer Mr. Parkash, IW-1 completed the investigation of the case and filed the reference. Director Muhammad Tahir who is already known for his excellent performance in recovery of looted amount from the corrupt and retrieval of illegally occupied state land from the accused, has taken special interest in this case.

During the proceedings of the reference, the accused is found involved in misuse of authority by illegally allotting land which belonged to Hyderabad Development Authority for caring 61 plots for HDAECHS Latifabad, Hyderabad which he subsequently leased out through fake revised lay out plan of the society.

After concluding of final arguments NAB Court announced its judgment and awarded six years jail term to accused Asif Haroon and imposed a fine of Rs 17,540,000.
