LAHORE: An accountability court extended on Monday the judicial remand of Saad Rafique and Salman Rafique till March 19 in the Paragon Housing Society case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) brought the Rafique brothers to court in an armored vehicle. During the hearing, the brothers’ lawyer informed the accountability court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan that his clients were being treated like war prisoners, local media reported.
NAB requested the court to extend the remand of the brothers and said that they needed time to present their report to the court. The court accepted their request and extended the judicial remand of Saad and Salman till March 19.
During the previous hearing, the court had ordered the bureau to present its report in the next hearing (today). NAB has accused the two brothers of conniving with Nadeem Zia and others had launched an illegal housing scheme Paragon City in 2005 on the basis of forged and fabricated documents.
