LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has submitted Rs 275 billion to the national exchequer following crackdown against corruption in the country.
According to the NAB authorities, under the self-accountability practice, the bureau also initiated action against its 83 officials. During the investigation, the team suspended 22 officers and 34 awarded punishment over the past two and a half years.
The spokesman also rejected reports of pocketing the share by NAB officials from the money recovered from corrupts.
On other hand, NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry also reiterated his resolve to continue the policy of zero tolerance against corruption within the department.
