NAB executive board approves filing of three corruption references

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) executive board has approved filing of three corruption references against various individuals for inflicting a loss of millions of rupees to national exchequer.

The approval was granted at NAB Board s meeting held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal in the chair.

The Board approved a reference against Khawaja Anwar Majeed and others on the allegations of corruption and money laundering, causing a loss of 340 million rupees to national kitty.

Other two references were approved against Syed Arif Khan and others of M/s Canal View for allegedly cheating the general public and former chairman Balochistan Development Authority Sadat Anwar for having assets beyond means. The meeting also approved three inquires against various people on charges of corruption.

Addressing the meeting Chairman NAB said surgery of cancer of corruption is need of the hour and it’s an honor for the department that our efforts were recognized by world economic forum. He said all available resources would be utilized to investigate mega corruption scandals.
