NAB expands investigation against Ameer Muqam

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has expanded investigation against Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Engineer Ameer Muqam.

Ameer Muqam is currently being investigated for corrupt practices and allegations possessing assets beyond known means of income.

The anti-graft watchdog has written a letter to the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department seeking complete details of the Muqam’s assets.

The department has also been directed to furnish complete details of properties, vehicles and other assets of Muqam’s family and submit them before July 16.

This includes Muqam’s wife, Naseem Begum and two daughters, Afshan Muqam and Anjam Sohail. The assets details of his four sons, Ashfaq Ahmed, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Niaz Ahmed and Ameer Adnan are also being probed.

Muqam is also President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has previously served as advisor to the prime minister. He will contest the next elections from NA-2 Swat, and was defeated in the 2013 general elections.
