NAB hands over cheques to KP govt PESCO

PESHAWAR: The Director General NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Brig ® Farooq Naser Awan handed-over cheques amounting to Rs 4.834 million to Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) in a graceful ceremony held at NAB (KP), here on Thursday.

Federal government through Provincial Govt had announced compensation to victims of D.I. Khan blast and different amount of compensations were fixed for deceased and injured.

However at the time of distribution, names of victims already included in the lists were replaced with some other persons and genuine victims were deprived of their right. During the course of inquiry the accused accepted his guilt and returned the looted money.

The cheque for amount to Rs. 2.767/- Million was handed over to Raza Ullah, Additional Secretary (EMU) Finance Department Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the Director General NAB (KP).

An amount of Rs.810,269 was recovered from Asmat Ullah Contractor of Lakki Marwat as during the course of investigation the accused had accepted the guilt and returned the looted money.

NAB (KP) WAPDA Recovery Cell actively pursuing the Electricity Bill Defaulters especially industrial consumers and recoveries were made frequently.

An amount of Rs. 1.257 million was recovered from Industrial electricity bill defaulters and handed over to Allah Nawaz, Additional Director (Commercial), PESCO by the Director General NAB (KP).

The DG NAB (KP) assured the general public that NAB (KP) will continue its efforts without any fear or favor and ensure the recovery of looted money from the culprits and return to its rightful heirs.
