NAB held Director of Peshawar University in Rs 12.49m funds embezzlement case

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested Dr. Imdadullah, Director (BPS 22) Institute of Chemical Sciences University of Peshawar who allegedly involved in embezzlement of funds from official accounts amounting to over Rs 12.49 million in connivance with other accused persons of the department.

According to a release of the NAB here Wednesday, it was revealed during the course of investigation that accused Imdadullah Director and In-charge of Institute of Chemical Sciences deliberately maintained the cash book entries in a manner for embezzlement of amount.

Cheques of huge amounts were not entered into these books at all, interestingly these Cheques were issued in namely himself, Arif Ismail and Muhammad Ali official of the department and the same amounts were then en-cashed by themselves.

This amount was drawn in various heads of accounts including HEC Scholarships, Indigenous Scholarships, Private Funds and MORA Scholarships etc resultantly debarred the deserving students.

It merits mentioning here that NAB had already arrested Arif Ismail, Muhammad Ali, officials of Institute of Chemical Science University of Peshawar in the instant case.

Accused Dr. Imdadullah will be presented before the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.
