NAB holds khuli kachehri, received complaints from general public

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi received a large number of complainants, submitted by the people in personal capacity regarding land fraud committed by government officials in connivance with private persons.

The complaints were submitted in khuli kachehri (public hearing) conducted here by Director General NAB Karachi Brig (r) Farooq Naser Awan along with his team, said a press release of the bureau.

Majority of the complaints were against management of cooperative societies, private builders, Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and Revenue Department.

The Director General issued orders for Complaint Verification (CV) on the complaints against various departments for initiation of prompt actions as per National Accountability Ordinance 1999.

Some of the complaints were transferred to departments concerned with the directions to resolve the grievances according to law.

It may be mentioned here that khuli katchery is conducted every last Thursday of each month at NAB office. However, the people, who cannot attend the kachehri can send their complaints via email [email protected] and 021-111-622-622, Fax on 02199207949 or personally or via post to PRCS Building Cantt Karachi.
