NAB initiates probe into Billions Trees Tsunami Project

PESHAWAR: The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated probe into Billion Tree Tsuanmi Project and gets detailed information on alleged embezzlement of funds in the project from forest department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As per NAB statement, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated probe into Billion Tree Tsuanmi Project.

For this purpose a Team of officers is constituted to conduct probe into embezzlement of funds in the project. In this connection a briefing was given by concerned officers of Forest Deptt to Director General NAB (KP) Farmanullah Khan.

The briefing was attended by directors, ADPGA and the concerned CIT. The Forest Department Team included Secretary Environment, Forests and Wildlife, Chief Conservator (Region-I), Project Director Billion Tree Tsunami, O/iC Monitoring & Evaluation Forest Deptt (KP).

NAB (KP) Team asked detailed questions regarding different aspects of the projects such as allocation and utilization of funds, saplings and self-growing seeds, procurement of plants, procedure for plantation, free distribution, hiring of Negehbaan, procedure for payments and other aspects of the project.

It merits to mentioning here that in compliance of direction issued by Chairman NAB Justice®Javed Iqbal NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities initiated probe into embezzlement of funds in Billion Tree Tsunami Project.
