LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore arrested an accused, Sohail Ikhlaq, from DHA area.
According to NAB spokesman, the accused acquired loan amounting to Rs 30 million from a private bank by pledging two properties, owned by him. Later he fraudulently sold both the properties and disappeared. The bank approached NAB Lahore in 2010 for recovery of its money. An inquiry was initiated and the accused was summoned. Later, NAB Lahore filed a corruption reference with the accountability court in 2014 and the accused was declared a proclaimed offender in 2015.
NAB Lahore Intelligence Wing arrested the accused from DHA Lahore and presented him before the accountability court, which handed him over to NAB investigation officer till Dec 27.
