NAB KP authorizes inquiry against officers of FATA Secretariat

PESHAWAR: The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held here with Brig ® Farooq Naser Awan, Director General NAB (KP) in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Directors, Additional Directors, Case Officers, and Senior Legal Consultants and other concerned officers. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting.

The board authorized an inquiry against officer/officials of FATA Secretariat and others regarding corruption and corrupt practices.

They are allegedly involved in embezzlement of funds in the name of Developmental Projects in FATA. An amount of Rs. 167.257 million were paid to 52 contractors in advance for developmental projects in Kurram Agency, FR Tank, and FR D.I. Khan but no work was executed so far.

At the end, Director General NAB (KP) Brig ® Farooq Naser Awan requested general public to join hand with NAB (KP) for eradication of corruption from the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
