NAB nabs PHA director for embezzlement

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday arrested Provincial Housing Authority Director Salauddin for alleged embezzlement of millions of rupees.

According to a NAB spokesman, the accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody. An inquiry was authorised to ascertain the real facts and collect requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused in his name and in the name of his dependents.

During inquiry it was revealed that the accused during his service in Provincial Housing Authority has accumulated huge assets disproportionate to his known legal sources of income which included three plots each one Kanal at Regi Model Town, Peshawar, 16 Marla plot at MPCH Islamabad, one Kanal plot at Phase-II Hayatabad Peshawar, double story Banglow at Phase-7 Hayatabad Peshawar, eight marla plot in Defence Housing Authority, Islamabad, one Corolla Car Model 2004, one Corolla Car Model 2012 and a luxury bungalow at Phase-2 Hayatabad, Peshawar.

The NAB actively pursuing the case and more properties are expected to be unearthed, he said adding additionally, the accused made huge unexplained transactions in the bank accounts.
