NAB orders inquiries against Balochistan minister, ex-IG Snidh

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has directed the regional bureaus to initiate complaints verification against cabinet member of Balochistan, former Inspector General Sindh and Secretary Health Sindh in corruption cases.

He directed Director General National Accountability Bureau Balochistan to start Complaint Verification against Provincial Minister Obaid Jan Babat for making assets beyond known sources of income including property in Dubai, owning over Rs130 million, property in Karachi, two bungalows in Multan, Rs75 million petrol pump in DG Khan and bungalow in Quetta.

Justice (r) Javed Iqbal also asked DG Karachi to conduct complaint verification against former IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, Sohail Jamali and others for illegally occupying 2,500 acres land of the forest department and cultivating the agriculture land in collaboration with officials of the revenue department in Sajawal.

He also ordered complaint verification against Secretary Health Sindh Dr Fazalullah Pechcho for misuse of authority and postings/transfers of favourites during his posting in education department Sindh.

The complaint verification will also cover Dr Fazalullah Pechcho for awarding contracts of purchasing inferior quality medicines.

The National Accountability Bureau Chairman took notice of alleged corruption of additional IG Balochistan Dr Mueebur Rehman.

The complaint verification will cover the allegations of having assets beyond sources of income, corruption reports in funds in petroleum products, purchase, repair and maintenance of official vehicles.
