ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has constituted a Prevention Committee on Health Affairs to examine related laws in force, rules and regulations in order to eliminate corruption and corrupt practices in the sector.
As per directions of Chairman, Qamar Zaman Chaudry, the Committee has been constituted under chairmanship of Director General of A&P, NAB Headquarters.
The mandate of the committee is also to prepare recommendations to educate and advice holders of public offices in Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination including different divisions of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and other related offices on measures to combat corruption.
The recommendations given by Prevention Committee on Health Affairs will be sent to Health Regulation Ministry and DRAP for implementation.
In his regard, Chairman NAB chaired a meeting on Monday to review the recommendations of Prevention Committee on Health Affairs at NAB headquarters here.
DG NAB gave presentation on recommendations of Prevention Committee on Health Affairs and informed that the meeting of Prevention Committee on Health Affairs it was decided to further divide the work into nine sub-committees for reformation in Health Departments as per their mandate.
She informed that the members of the sub-committees No: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 have prepared their recommendations on issues of “Reformation in the Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluations,” “Registration Division of Controlled Drugs,” “Reformation in the Division of Costing and Pricing,” “Reformation in Division of Drug Licensing,” “Division of Quality Assurance and Laboratory Testing, Division of Pharmacy Services,” “Reformation in the Division of Health and OTC Products (Non-drugs), Division of Medical Devices and Medicated Cosmetics,” Functions of NIH, Tibb and Homeopathy Sector,
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, PIMS Hospital, Polyclinic Hospital, NIRM, Federal Government Hospitals Services, Human Organ Transplant” and preparation of “Guidelines for procurement of vaccine and syringes.
