NAB Punjab arrests PPP senator’s son on corruption charges

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau has arrested Shaukat Ali son of PPP Senator Saifullah Bangash for selling a marriage hall illegally.

“[The hall] is a case property cautioned by the NAB in another case, prohibiting its sale and purchase. However, the accused, in connivance with and active abatement of other accused persons, violated NAB’s caution and illegally sold it out for Rs 52.5 million,” sources told Customs Today.

Sources said that the amount was distributed among all the accused persons. “The NAB has recovered the ill-gotten money from 13 accused persons,” sources added.

It is pertinent tom mention here, that NAB had arrested senior PPP leader and former president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia, on charges of committing fraud through his brokerage house and got his 10-day physical remand from the accountability court.

Zia and four other directors of the brokerage house were accused of committing a fraud of Rs80 million with 80 people.
