ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today strongly rejected some media reports which stated that Mangi Sahib who belonged to Sindh is involved in arresting Sindhi people.

According to a press release, it is stated that National Accountability Bureau is a national institution which is performing according to law and constitution. NAB is working hard to eliminate corruption from our country purely on merit. NAB officials did not have any affiliation with any political party and strongly condemned the false propaganda about provincialism.

The press release further stated that NAB officials only affiliated with Pakistan’s state and performing according to law, transparency, dedication and honestly. The on-going propaganda against NAB is a move to halt process of ongoing investigations against corruption, while on the other hand NAB will continue to perform their responsibilities purely on transparent manner.

It is necessary to mention here that NAB team arrested Speaker of Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani on charges of making assets beyond legal income. NAB team arrested him from Islamabad. The operation was carried out by intelligence wing of NAB under the direct supervision of chairman.

Soon after his arrest a medical team conducted thorough medical check-up of the Sindh Assembly speaker. NAB court also approved three days transit remand of Agha Siraj Durrani. He will be shifted to Karachi by NAB team soon.
