NAB strongly denies any role in Mian Javed’s death

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) strongly refuted media reports regarding Mian Javed died during NAB custody.

According to a press release issued by NAB, it is stated that after orders of NAB court on 23rd October, 2018 Mian Javed was sent to jail in complete sound and stable health. He died in Services Hospital while in custody of jail authorities instead of NAB.

It is also clarified that NAB Chairman Justice ® Javed Iqbal strictly ordered not to handcuff any accused person during NAB custody and all NAB teams are following these orders.

The press release further stated that NAB is a national institution which is seriously working for a corruption free Pakistan. NAB performance is hailed by many forums on national and international level.  The ongoing propaganda regarding Mian Javed death in NAB custody is totally baseless. Some corrupt persons are willfully using this occasion for their personal benefits.

NAB will continue to perform its responsibilities transparently and according to law in future also, the press release concluded as saying.
