NAB summons Akram Durrani in corruption cases

RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Akram Khan Durrani on November 8 in various corruption cases.

According to sources, NAB Rawalpindi has summoned Akram Khan Durrani to record his statement. He is being investigated in three different corruptin cases; assets beyond means, illegal recruits and allotment of plots for mosques.

According to NAB sources, assets beyond means and illegal recruitment proceedings are being conducted against the head of the opposition‘s Rehbar committee.

Durrani is facing inquiries for alleged corruption in two housing projects announced by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation, appointment of officers in the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation, allotment of plots for mosques and induction in the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD).

Durrani had served as the federal minister for housing and works during the last Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government. He was the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal ruled the province after the 2002 elections.
