WASHINGTON: NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will serve as a first-time host site for the International Space Apps Challenge, a global, mass collaboration that gathers volunteer participants to work on specific NASA challenges.
“Teams of tech-savvy citizens in Northeast Ohio are wanted to present their innovative ideas on how NASA may be able to solve specific mission challenges,” Sean Gallagher, Glenn’s chief information officer, said in a release.
To host the Space Apps Challenge, Glenn has teamed up with OHTec, formerly NEOSA. The event is April 10-12 in Glenn’s new Mission Integration Center in Brook Park.
Space Apps Challenge is part of this year’s OHTec Tech Week activities April 9-18. More than 5,000 participants are expected to attend Tech Week activities throughout Northeast Ohio this year.
Space Apps Challenge participants are asked to develop mobile applications, software, data visualization and platform solutions that could contribute to space exploration mission and, ultimately, help improve life on Earth.
