CANADA: As per reports, a new image has been taken of the sun which shows it flaring up in active and bright regions. This image shows colors which show types of x-ray activity on the sun. Discovery News has reported that this image is a mixture of a number of images from different telescopes which are combined with ultraviolet observations from the Solar Dynamics Observatory at NASA, X-ray observations from the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array at NASA and the lower energy X-ray images taken by the Hinode observatory in Japan.
As per Iain Hannah from the University of Glasgo, there are a few active parts on the sun which may be viewed using this method. He also added that the sun is slowly quietening down as far as its activity cycle is concerned but it will still take at least a couple of years for it to reach its minimum. He said that we will have to wait for a few more years while the sun quietens down further before we will be able to detect such events.
This fresh image of the star shows processes of high-energy X-ray creation which takes place in the sun’s outermost layer which is also known as the atmosphere of the sun or its corona. Reports also suggest that heat distribution from the corona has and still is quite puzzling for scientists. The main reason for this is because it is far hotter than what classical thermodynamics predicted it would be.
