HONG KONG : Scientists say a swarm of objects around a star look like ‘something you would expect an alien civilisation to build’
A star with unusual behaviour spotted by the Kepler Telescope could be explained by alien activity, scientists have said.
KIC 8462852, a star 1,500 light years away from earth, has been observed by Nasa astronomers displaying strange signals.
The Kepler Space Telescope is designed to locate Earth-sized habitable planets by searching for dips in light caused by a planet moving in front of a star and blocking the light.
Regular dips in the light could mean the presence of a new planet outside our solar system.
But none of the 150,000 stars monitored so far have dimmed by as much as KIC 8462852.
