National Accountability Bureau recovers Rs 4.5 billion this year

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered Rs 4.5 billion during the current fiscal year.According to sources, NAB received 19,900 applications for the recovery in 2013 while in 2014 it has received 40,770 applications which shows that the application rate has been doubled as the NAB is implementing the national anti-corruption strategy and making the organization more efficient.Sources added that NAB has settled 243 inquiries, 129 cases are investigated and 135 references are registered in 2013 while it settled 585 inquires, 188 cases and  208 references in 2014.

Sources added that NAB has also formed 4030 character building societies in the educational institutions all over the country in the collaboration with Higher Education Commission. While 110 investigation officers from NAB have completed their training. A forensic science laboratory has also been established in the organization.
